Here's an up-tempo swinger bookended by rubato statements of the exotic main theme, which is derived from a pentatonic mode found in traditional Japanese music.

Exciting big band writing, memorable melodies, and a great vehicle to feature your alto & trumpet soloists. This chart was written for Miles Osland's celebration of 30 years of masterful teaching at the University of Kentucky.

Premiered at the 2018 Midwest Clinic.
